To lay the infrastructure for the e-government drive and facilitate its future implementation.
Infrastructures & Technologies:

The project included the establishment of the following infrastructures and technologies:

Building a computer center for the project equipped with all necessary systems such as entry control system, proper air-conditioning, power distribution, fire and smoke detection and fighting systems.
providing the necessary networking equipment to connect the site with the ministry intranet and on one hand, and the internet official main gate at the King Abdulaziz City for Sciences & Technology on the other..
Providing the necessary systems to protect the site against security threats.
Providing the necessary file servers to meet the expected demands on the site specially during the holy seasons of Ramadhan and Hajj and load balancing mechanisms.
Building the necessary portals to carry the TV and Radio streams over the Internet live and on demand.
A transmission program was developed under the Microsoft environment which will support more than 98% of the operating systems at the users machines without having to load any software for it. .

Operation & Maintenance:

The project operation and maintenance has been assigned to ARCOM for three years ended on 17 April 2007.
